Girl Scouts of the USA was founded on March 12, 1912, by Juliette Gordon Low, who brought girls together with the purpose of helping them develop a sense of responsibility, commit themselves to the highest ideals, and foster teamwork so they could learn to support one another. Today, Girl Scouts continues to be the preeminent organization for girls between the ages of five and 17 and has more than 3.8 million girl and adult members nationwide. Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place.

Girl Scouts - North Carolina Coastal Pines, a merger of the Girl Scout Council of Coastal Carolina and Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council serves more than 32,000 girl members and nearly 10,000 adult members in 41 central and eastern North Carolina.

ON MY HONOR, I WILL TRY:
To Serve God and my country,
To help others at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

I WILL DO MY BEST TO BE
honest and fair,
friendly and helpful,
considerate and caring,
courageous and strong, and
responsible for what I say and do,
and to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.
